If I obtained a medical marijuana card from another clinic in Oregon, can I renew with AAH?
Yes! This is generally a very simple process. We pride ourselves on our professional, private and expedient service and we encourage patients whose cards are expiring to consider renewing with AAH.
How long is a clinic appointment at AAH?
Your time and health are important to us! Your clinic appointment at AAH will take about one hour.
Are there any charges for record review?
No, AAH does not charge a fee for record review. Obtaining your medical records is the first step in the process. If you have your medical records, please bring them into our office, or you can have us obtain them for you by signing a medical release form.
Is my information shared with anyone?
No! Your personal information is confidential. See http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/ommp/confidential.shtml
There is a clinic fee and also a state fee, what are the costs?
* The AAH clinic fee is $175 paid at the time you obtain your card
* The state fee to OMMP is $100 unless you can prove that you are low income in which case it is reduced to $20. To be eligible for the reduced fee of $20.00, a patient must provide upon submitting your OMMP application to the state, current proof of food stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, or a copy of your current Oregon Health Plan (OHP) card.
Once I acquire a medical marijuana card, am I able to purchase medical marijuana?
No, you are not. There are two ways for you to obtain cannabis once you have acquired your Oregon medical marijuana card.
1) You are allowed to grow up to 6 plants yourself
2) You are allowed to designate a surrogate as your grower to grow the medicine for you (note: Oregon law states that the grower can only be reimbursed for cost of material)
Are there any plans on trying to get dispensaries in Oregon?
Yes. Advocacy groups and activists around the state are currently gathering signatures for Initiative 28 which would create a regulated supply system for Oregon medical marijuana patients. If you are interested in signing, you can come by the AAH office between business hours and do so.
Does the OMMP have a website where I can obtain information?
Please go to: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/ommp/index.shtml. If you are unclear about anything, please feel free to call us and we will assist you with any questions you may have.
Is my Oregon Medical Marijuana Card valid in other states?
Yes. Currently Montana and Rhode Island are the only states to recognize reciprocity amongst the cardholders of medical marijuana states.
